The Metropolitan Opera will present a recital at SummerStage in Central Park at 8pm on July 13, with Tony Award winner Paulo Szot, Lisette Oropesa, Alek Shrader, and Vlad Iftinca, according to The New York Times.

In addition, the Met will offer five more recitals in each of the five boroughs between July 17 and August 14, as well as a 10-day festival of high-definition broadcasts of Met productions in Lincoln Center Plaza, ending with the late Anthony Minghella’s staging of Madama Butterfly on Labor Day.

As previously announced, the Met’s 2009-10 season opens on September 21 with a new production of Puccini’s Tosca with Karita Mattila in the title role.
