Full casting has been announced for The Roundabout Theatre Company’s New York premiere of Mark Saltzman’s Tin Pan Alley Rag, to run at the Laura Pels Theatre beginning June 12, with an opening set for July 14. Stafford Arima will direct the production, which features choreography by Liza Gennaro and musical direction by Michael Patrick Walker.

The cast will include Randy Aaron, Michael Boatman, Derrick Cobey, Jenny Fellner, Rosena M. Hill, James Judy, Mark Ledbetter, Michael McCormick, Erick Pinnick, Tia Speros, Michael Therriault, and Idara Victor.

The show tells the story of an imagined meeting between Irving Berlin and Scott Joplin (to be played by Thierrault and Boatman), and the score includes such classic songs as Berlin’s “I Love a Piano,” “Play a Simple Melody,” and “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” and Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag” and “The Entertainer.”

Arima received an Olivier Award nomination for his direction of Ragtime in the West End, and directed the Off-Broadway hit, Altar Boyz. His regional credits include The Princess and the Black-Eyed Pea, Candide, Ace, and Bright Lights, Big City.
