Full cast and creative team have been announced for Mark Cuddy’s production of August Wilson’s drama Fences, to play Rochester’s Geva Theatre, May 19-June 21.

The play, about a former Negro League baseball player who still yearns for something more in his life, is part of Wilson’s Pittsburgh Hill cycle. It won the Tony Award, Pulitzer Prize, and other honors.

The cast will feature Tony Todd (Troy), Nora Cole (Rose), Jason Dirden (Lyons), Jared McNeil (Cory), Wiley More (Bono), Brian D. Coats (Gabriel), and Samiah Dilbert and Brianna Randolph (alternating as Raynell). The creative team includes Shaun Motley (sets), Emilio Sosa (costumes), Dawn Chiang (lighting), and Ian Hildreth (sound).

The Geva will also present two related events. On May 28, it will present Two on Two: Renaissance Men, an intimate look at Wilson at artist Romare Bearden featuring choreographer Garth Fagan and actor Stephen McKinley Henderson, and a reading of Wilson’s Seven Guitars on June 12.
