Tony Award winners Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones will perform a scene from Alfred Uhry’s Driving Miss Daisy as part of STAR TURNS: Great Writers Thank Their Lucky Stars!, a benefit for The Dramatists Guild Fund, honoring Rosie O’Donnell and Rosie’s Broadway Kids, to be held at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel at 7pm on Monday April 20. Julie Halston will host the event, which will be directed by Dan Foster.

Other participants for the evening will include Bernadette Peters, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jefferson Mays, Idina Menzel, Nathan Lane, Christine Ebersole, David Hyde Pierce, LaChanze, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jane Alexander, B.D. Wong, Karen Olivo, and Alan Alda.

The annual gala event helps to raise monies for future generations of writers, writers in need, and many theater companies across the country that support and present the work of new American playwrights. The benefit also raises money to advance and improve the condition and welfare of persons engaged in the writing and creation of dramatic and other literary works for the theater and related arts.

Tickets begin at $35 per person for the performance only. For information, call 212-864-7827 or visit www.dgfund.org.
