Tony Award winner Kevin Kline will narrate Profokiev’s Peter and the Wolf as part of the New York Philharmonic’s Summertime Classics series, to be held July 5 and 6 at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City and July 7 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel Woods, New York.

The concerts will be conducted by Bramwell Tovey. The Avery Fisher program, entitled Moscow on the Hudson, will also feature works by Glinka, Khachaturian, Borodin, and Tchaikovsky, while the Bethel Woods concert will include works by Sousa and Bernstein, along with Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.”

Kline recently played the title role in The Public Theater’s production of King Lear. He received Tony Awards for his work in The Pirates of Penzance and On the Twentieth Century, and an Academy Award for A Fish Called Wanda.
