The 2007 Tony Awards Administration Committee met on April 12 to decide the eligibility of The Coast of Utopia, Translations, Journey’s End, and Prelude to a Kiss for the 2007 Tony Awards, which will be presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing on Sunday, June 10 at Radio City Music Hall. All other decisions than those detailed below were consistent with the shows’ opening night credits.

The trilogy of Coast of Utopia by Sir Tom Stoppard, presented by Lincoln Center Theater, will be considered one play (and not three) for award purposes. Brian F. O’Byrne will be eligible as Best Leading Actor in a Play for his performance as Alexander Herzen; all other cast members will be eligible in the featured categories.

Despite being billed above the title, Journey’s End‘s Jefferson Mays and Prelude‘s John Mahoney, both former Tony winners, will be eligible as Best Featured Actor in a Play.

The eligibility cut-off for this year’s Tony Awards is May 9; 110 in the Shade will be the final show to open this season. Nominations will be announced on the morning of Tuesday, May 15.
