Kathleen Chalfant, Danny Glover, Ally Sheedy, Stanley Tucci, and Kerry Washington will be among the artists participating in a special free program of readings from Voices of A People’s History of the United States at 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 2 at Cooper Union (7 East 7th Street).

The book’s authors, Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove, will narrate and introduce the program. Other artists who will read and give musical performances include Opal Alladin, Erin Cherry, Staceyann Chin, Steve Earle, Deepa Fernandes, Brian Jones, Allison Moorer, and Harris Yulin.

The book features the words of rebels, dissenters, and visionaries from our past and present; it is a companion volume to Zinn’s previous work, A People’s History of the United States.
