Tony Awards Administration Committee Announces New Decisions

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today to decide eligibility of seven Broadway productions for the 2006 American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards, to be presented on June 11. The nominations will be announced on Tuesday, May 16.

This is the third time the Tony Awards Administration Committee has met to discuss eligibility for nominations for the 2006 Tony Awards. They will meet one final time after the May 10th eligibility cut-off for shows opening in the 2005-2006 season.

These are the newest decisions, with all other decisions consistent with opening night credits:

Bridge & Tunnel will be considered in the Special Theatrical Event category.

Cynthia Nixon and John Slattery will be considered in the Lead Actor and Actress in a Play categories for their performances in Rabbit Hole.

Jill Clayburgh and Tony Roberts will be considered in the Featured Actor and Actress in a Play categories for their performances in Barefoot in the Park.

Michael McKean will be considered in the Featured Actor in a Musical category for The Pajama Game.

Lisa Kron will be considered in the Lead Actress in a Play category for Well.

Larry Bryggman and Michael Hayden will be considered in the Lead Actor in a Play category for Festen.
