No Pulitzer Prize for Drama Awarded This Year; Durang, Jones, Rapp Named as Finalists

The Pulitzer Prize committee has decided not to award a drama prize this year for the first time since 1997. Christopher Durang’s Miss Witherspoon, Rolin Jones’s The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow, and Adam Rapp’s Red Light Winter were the three finalists.

Because of a rule change this year that made December 31, 2005 the cut-off date for eligibility, David Lindsay-Abaire’s Rabbit Hole was not considered by the committee. It will be eligble for the 2007 award.
