It has just been announced that the Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins will join the cast of Embedded, a play that he wrote and directed and which is currently playing at The Public Theater. Robbins will step into the show on April 27 and will play the final four weeks of performances through May 22.

A political satire, Embedded has already had its run extended three times. Featured in the cast are Ben Cain, V.J. Foster, Brent Hinkley, Kaili Hollister, Mark Lewis, Riki Lindhome, Jay R. Martinez, Kate Mulligan, Steven M. Porter, Toni Torres, Lolly Ward and Andrew Wheeler. The production has scenic design by Richard Hoover, costume design by Yasuko Takahara, lighting design by Adam H. Greene, sound design by David Robbins, and masks by Erhard Stiefel.

In his review of the show for TheaterMania, Adam Klasfeld wrote: “At its best, Embedded is a biting satire of media censorship. Unfortunately, the piece eventually devolves into a hysterical reaction to the influence of certain strains of political thought on foreign policy.”
