On Friday, April 16 at Sardi’s, the Drama Desk hosted a panel discussion on the subject of “Star Quality.” The participants were Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, and Joel Grey of Wicked; Donna Murphy of Wonderful Town; Tonya Pinkins of Caroline, or Change, and Alec Baldwin of Twentieth Century. Here are Chenoweth and Baldwin in a chummy moment…

Here are some choice TM video highlights from the “Star Quality” event.
Yesterday afternoon — Monday, April 19 — the American Theatre Wing held a luncheon at the Pierre Hotel in honor of its longtime leader, the late Isabelle Stevenson. The tribute portion of the program was hosted by Alec Baldwin and included performances by Kevin Kline, Tovah Feldshuh, and Elaine Strich, not to mention a hilarious spoof documentary video of Stevenson’s life that was made a few years ago by Nathan Lane. Here’s the one and only Stritch at the luncheon.
Among the scores of stars and other notables on hand to honor Stevenson: David Staller (currently in the Irish Rep’s hit production of Finian’s Rainbow) and Karen Ziemba (soon to be seen in the Encores! presentation of Bye Bye Birdie)…
…Raúl Esparza (currently playing Ned Weeks in The Normal Heart) with wife Michele…
…Jim Dale, who co-starred with Esparza in last season’s Off-Broadway revival of Comedians…
…and Shubert Organization chairman Gerald Schoenfeld, pictured here with Michael Riedel, the controversial theater reporter for the New York Post. (Quoth Schoenfeld: “This photo is going to kill my career!”)
Stephen Belber’s Match opened on Broadway on April 8, and a party was held at Metronome after the performance. Here’s star Frank Langella with opera great Renée Fleming.
Another recent Broadway opening was that of Eliam Kraiem’s Sixteen Wounded on April 15. Here’s Kraiem with star Judd Hirsch at the after party, which was held at Noche.
We leave you with some shots from last night’s bare bash, held at Therapy to celebrate the pop opera’s opening at the American Theatre of Actors. Here are Michael Arden and John Hill, who play lovers Peter and Jason in the show…
…here’s Kaitlin Hopkins (who plays Peter’s mother) with Adam Fleming (who plays Lucas)…
…here are Isaac Culpito and Aaaron Lohr, who play Alan and Matt, respectively…
…here’s director Kristin Hanggi with producer Michael David…
…and here’s bare composer Damon Intrabartolo (right) with Stephen Oremus, musical director of Wicked….
