Tim Ruddy's The International will receive its world premiere production at off-Broadway's The Cell. The Origin Theatre Company's production will play from April 3-May 4 with direction by Christopher Randolph.

In the play, Dave, an aspiring artist and truck driver; Hans, a well-meaning international peacekeeper; and Irene, a passionate farmwoman all witness familiar events taking place during an unnamed war in Eastern Europe. The play unfolds as the audience sees the world through each character's eyes.

Carey Van Driest and Ted Schneider, who originated their roles in the show's workshop production at last year's Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival, to award-winning effect, will return to the play. Final casting for The International will be announced soon.

The show's production design team includes James Maloof (sets) and Derek Van Heel (lighting).

Origin Theatre Company produces the New York and American premieres of plays by playwrights from Europe. The works of 42 playwrights have been introduced to U.S. audiences by Origin, including Enda Walsh, Mark O'Rowe, and Lucy Caldwell.
