Signature Theatre has announced a one-week extension for the New York premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' Appropriate, directed by Liesl Tommy. The production, which opened March 16, will now play through April 13 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

In the play, estranged members of the Lafayette clan have returned to their crumbling Arkansas home to settle the accounts of their recently deceased patriarch. As they sort through a lifetime of belongings, the discovery of a gruesome relic and a surprise visitor send the family into a spiral of confrontations and regret.

The cast of Appropriate includes Maddie Corman, Patch Darragh, Tony Award nominee Johanna Day, Alex Dreier, Mike Faist, Izzy Hanson-Johnston, Sonya Harum, and Michael Laurence.

The design team includes Clint Ramos (scenic and costume design), Lap Chi Chu (lighting design), Broken Chord (original music and sound design), and Aaron Rhyne (projection design).

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins is the winner of the 2013 Sundance Theatre Institute Tennessee Williams Award.
