Fiasco Theatre's acclaimed ten-actor/one-piano production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Into the Woods, first seen last year at the McCarter Theatre Center in New Jersey, will come to New York via Roundabout Theatre Company. The off-Broadway mounting will run in the winter of 2015 at the Laura Pels Theatre.

The minimalist rendering of the fairy tale-inspired musical is codirected by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, who also starred in the McCarter production. That cast of that production also included Fiasco vets Jessie Austrian, Andy Grotelueschen, Emily Young, and Paul L. Coffey, as well as Jennifer Mudge, Liz Hayes, Claire Karpen, and Patrick Mulryan. Fiasco is known for its acclaimed small-scale revivals of Shakespeare's plays Cymbeline and Measure for Measure, the latter of which is currently running at the New Victory Theater.

Into the Woods weaves together the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and a childless Baker and his wife as they quest to achieve their greatest wishes. The musical was last seen in New York as part of Shakespeare in the Park's 2012 summer season. It premiered on Broadway in 1987 and was revived in 2002.

Additional information will be announced in the coming months.
