Jennifer Bowles (Matilda) will play the title role in the New York City Center Encores! production of the 1960 musical Irma La Douce. She will star opposite Tony nominee Rob McClure (Honeymoon in Vegas). The musical will run for seven performances from May 7–11.

Irma La Douce, the final production of the 2014 Encores! season, will also feature Sam Bolen, Allan Corduner, Ben Crawford, Stephen DeRosa, Ken Krugman, Zachary James, and Chris Sullivan. It will be directed by John Doyle and choreographed by Chase Brock, with music direction by Rob Berman.

The musical tells the tale of a Parisian lady of the evening (Bowles) and the law student (McClure) who falls in love with her. It features music by Marguerite Monnot and English book and lyrics by Julian More, David Heneker, and Monty Norman, with original book and lyrics by Alexandre Breffort.

After opening in Paris in 1956 and running for three years, an English-language version of Irma La Douce was produced on Broadway at the Plymouth Theatre in 1960 and ran for 524 performances.
