Actor John Glover (Love! Valour! Compassion!) will be joining the panel at Drama Desk's annual Spring Luncheon and Panel Discussion, to be held at Sardi's on Friday, April 4. He joins this year's Bard-themed discussion entitled, "Why Shakespeare? Why Now?," bringing his experiences as one of the witches from this past season's Lincoln Center production of Macbeth to the table.
Glover joins the previously announced Michael Pennington (star of King Lear at the Theatre for a New Audience), actor Scott Shepherd (Cry, Trojans!, The Wooster Group's Troilus & Cressida), director Daniel Sullivan (The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare in the Park), and Tony-winning director Julie Taymor (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Theatre for a New Audience).
Playwright, critic, and Drama Desk member Carol Rocamora will moderate the discussion, exploring the Shakespearean trend from this past season. The event will be held in the Eugenia Room on the fourth floor of Sardi's from 11:45am-2:30pm.
The luncheon will kick off the events leading up to the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards, presented by TheaterMania and hosted by Laura Benanti, scheduled to take place on Sunday June 1 at the Town Hall.
