Last night, Aladdin officially took its place on Broadway as Disney's latest screen-to-stage project, following an impressive lineup that includes The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Newsies. In honor of the occasion, TheaterMania is flashing back to the magical cartoon that started it all — or at least the voice behind every child's big blue bestie. Take a look as Bette Midler presents Robin Williams with the first-ever Special Achievement Golden Globe Award in 1992 for his impressive vocal stylings as the whimsical, wish-granting genie.
