The upcoming Broadway premiere of Jeanine Tesori and Brian Crawley's Violet will be recorded by PS Classics for a two-disc cast album, which will be released on June 3. The production begins previews tonight, March 28, at the American Airlines Theatre and opens officially on April 7.

Tommy Krasker produces the album, which marks the sixth collaboration between Roundabout Theatre Company and the PS Classics record label. The album is partially made possible through contributions from show producers Elizabeth Armstrong, Amy Sherman-Palladino, and Daniel Palladino. Orchestrations are by Rick Bassett, Joseph Joubert, and Buryl Red, with music direction by Michael Rafter.

Sutton Foster leads the cast of the musical, which is inspired by Doris Betts' short story The Ugliest Pilgrim and follows the journey of woman whose face was disfigured in a childhood accident. Directed by Leigh Silverman, the company also includes Colin Donnell, Alexander Gemignani, Joshua Henry, Emerson Steele, Ben Davis, Annie Golden, Austin Lesch, Anastacia McCleskey, Charlie Pollock, Jacob Keith Watson, Rema Webb, and Virginia Ann Woodruff.
