The play, written by Thomas F. Flynn and based on his book Bikeman: An Epic Poem, recounts his own experiences reporting live from ground zero on the morning of September 11, 2001. An award-winning writer and producer for the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, Flynn was outside his Greenwich Village home when the first plane flew overhead. The play follows the events that unfolded over the course of that morning as he jumped on his bicycle and rode toward the Twin Towers.
Directed by Michael Bush, the play features performances by Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli, Irungu Mutu, Angela Pierce, Elizabeth Ramos, and Richard Topol. "Every human being in the world alive on that day experienced September 11. It was the most watched event in the history of the earth," says Flynn. "For them, it will always be a searing memory. I believe this is everyone's story."
