The West End productions of American musicals The Book of Mormon, The Scottsboro Boys, and Once scored six 2014 Olivier Awards nominations apiece and will vie against each other in the coveted category of Best New Musical. The nods were announced on March 10 by Nigel Harman and Leigh Zimmerman.

In the Supporting Role category, Broadway vet Colman Domingo also saw his name mentioned for his work in Scottsboro Boys.

Other New York names on the lists include Susan Stroman and Casey Nicholaw (up against one another in the Best Theatre Choreographer category for The Scottsboro Boys and The Book of Mormon, respectively), John Kander and Fred Ebb (Outstanding Achievement in Music for The Scottsboro Boys), and Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone (Outstanding Achievement in Music for The Book of Mormon).

In the play categories, Jude Law (Best Actor, Henry V) will duke it out with Henry Goodman (The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui), Tom Hiddleston (Coriolanus), and Rory Kinnear (Othello), while Judi Dench (Peter and Alice) takes on Hayley Atwel (The Pride), Anna Chancellor (Private Lives), and Lesley Manville (Ghosts).
