The Vineyard Theatre's production of Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph's The North Pool opened off-Broadway on Wednesday, March 6.

Directed by Giovanna Sardelli, who helmed a production of the drama at Barrington Stage Company in the summer of 2012, the two-hander stars Stephen Barker Turner (Benefactors) as a high school vice principal who begins an interrogation of a new transfer student from the Middle East (played by Babak Tafti in his off-Broadway debut). The creative team includes Tony Award winners Donyale Werle (scenic design) and Paloma Young (costume design), as well as David Lander (lighting design), and Daniel Kluger (sound design).

Guests included Vineyard veterans Colman Domingo, Sharon Washington, and Derrick Cobey (all of The Scottsboro Boys), Jenny Bacon (My Name is Asher Lev), composer Todd Almond (On the Levee), and playwright Jenny Schwartz (Somewhere Fun).
