Two-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane (The Addams Family, The Producers) and the cast of Douglas Carter Beane's The Nance met the press on Wednesday, March 6 at their Lincoln Center rehearsal hall. The Lincoln Center Theater production, directed by multi-Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (The Coast of Utopia, Hairspray), begins previews at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre on March 21, with an opening set for April 15.

Lane leads the company as the "Nance" of the title, Chauncey Miles, a 1930s burlesque performer who specializes in portraying stereotypically camp homosexual characters. While these roles were usually played by straight men, Miles himself happens to be homosexual, and must navigate the dangerous gay underworld of 1930s New York. Joining Lane are Jonny Orsini (An Early History of Fire) as Ned, the young man Chauncey takes under his wing, Lewis J. Stadlen (The Producers) as Efram, the First Banana of the burlesque show, Tony Award winner Cady Huffman (The Producers) as showgirl Sylvie, Jenni Barber (The Performers) as showgirl Joan, Andrea Burns (In the Heights) as showgirl Carmen, Mylinda Hull (Sweet Charity) as wardrobe mistress Rose, and Geoffrey Allen Miller (War Horse) as stagehand Charlie.

The production's creative team includes John Lee Beatty (sets), Ann Roth (costumes), Japhy Weideman (lighting), Leon Rothenberg (sound), Joey Pizzi (choreography), and Glen Kelly (original music and arrangements).
