After bursting onto the big screen as Enjolras in the recent blockbuster film adaptation of Les Misérables, Aaron Tveit is returning to the Big Apple to display his talents on a more intimate platform. The Broadway veteran will be performing his first solo concert at the popular nightclub 54 Below, singing a mixed bag of standards, personal favorites, and selections from his many stage roles.
Tveit made his Broadway debut in 2006, taking over the role of Link Larkin in the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, and returned to Broadway in 2008 as Fiyero in Wicked. He first originated a Broadway role in 2009 as Gabe in heart-wrenching Tom Kitt/Brian Yorkey musical Next To Normal. He then costarred as Frank Abagnale Jr. alongside Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz in the Broadway musical Catch Me If You Can in 2011. Tveit also appeared in the 2010 film Howl as well as the hit TV series Gossip Girl, and will soon be appearing on the USA series Graceland.
Performances for Tveit's show at 54 Below have been scheduled for May 3, 11, 17, and 18. Tickets are not yet being sold, but the sounds of screaming Broadway fan girls throughout the streets of New York should serve as a good tip-off.
