The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and The League of Professional Theatre Women celebrated the opening of the new exhibit, Celebrating Our Legacy, with a cocktail party at the library on Wednesday, March 7.
The photographic exhibition celebrates the women who have been recorded as part of the CUNY-TV series Women in Theatre – Dialogues with Notable Women in American Theatre. The program, which is available for viewing in the library’s Theatre on Film & Tape Archive, was hosted by Newsday theater critic Linda Winer.
Guests at the cocktail party included Billie Allen, Jo Bonney, Nancy Ford, Susan Hilferty, Willa Kim, Julia Miles, Estelle Parsons, Lois Smith, Linda Winer, the Guerrilla Girls, and Christopher Hart, who was there representing his mother Kitty Carlisle Hart, who passed away in 2007.
Celebrating Our Legacy will run March 8 – April 28 in the Library’s Plaza Corridor Gallery.
