The Public Theater presented a benefit concert titled Public Sings!, on Monday, March 5 at Joe’s Pub.
The evening, which celebrated the Public’s history of presenting musicals, was directed by Daisy Prince, with musical direction by Chris Fenwick. The musicals represented ranged from classics like Hair and A Chorus Line, to contemporary favorites like Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Passing Strange, as well as the upcoming productions of No Place to Go and February House.
Performers and attendees included Joan Almedilla, de’Adre Aziza, Stanley Bahorek, David Byrne, Joe Cassidy, John Ellison Conlee, Lili Cooper, Rocio Del Mar Valles, Matt Doyle, Paul Frazier, Montego Glover, Grace Gummer, Mamie Gummer, Greg Hildreth, Eli James, Gabriel Kahane, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Justin Levine, Corey Mach, Betsy Morgan, Mary Kate Morrissey, Kelli O’Hara, Jessica Phillips, Bobby Steggert, Jeanine Tesori, Katie Thompson, and Benjamin Walker.
