Peter Gethers and Daniel Okrent’s Old Jews Telling Jokes to Begin Westside Theatre Run on May 1

The new Off-Broadway show Old Jews Telling Jokes will begin performances on Tuesday, May 1 at the Westside Theatre. The production, which will open officially on May 20, will be directed by Marc Bruni. Casting will be announced shortly.

Co-created by Peter Gethers and Daniel Okrent, the work showcases five actors in a revue that pays tribute to and reinvents classic jokes of the past and present.. The show also features comic songs, as well as tributes to some of the giants of the comedy world.


The creative team includes David Gallo (Set and Video Design), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design), Alejo Vietti (Costume Design), and Richard Fitzgerald/Sound Associates (Sound Design).


Bruni will direct the upcoming City Center Encores! production of Pipe Dream.
