HBO has announced that it will end production of its series Luck, according to Variety.

The announcement comes after a third horse on the set has been injured and died. Two horses were also euthanized earlier in the production of Luck's first season. Written by David Milch and starring Dustin Hoffman, the series is an inside look at the world of horse racing.

Luck's cast also features Patrick J. Adams, Kerry Condon, Richie Coster, Kevin Dunn, Dennis Farina, Jason Gedrick, Michael Gambon, Ian Hart, Jill Hennessy, Richard Kind, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz, Tom Payne, Mercedes Ruehl, and Gary Stevens.

The show's producers included David Milch and Michael Mann.
