AUDIO SHARE: Stream "Someone Else’s Story" from Meredith Braun’s New CD

Stage Door Records has shared the title track from Meredith Braun’s forthcoming album Someone Else’s Story for streaming on TheaterMania.com. As previously reported, the recording will be released on March 26.

Among the other selections on the album are Stephen Schwartz’s “Meadlowlark” (from The Baker’s Wife), George Stiles and Anthony Drewe’s “Wait a Bit” (from Just So), Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “You Must Love Me” (from the film Evita), and two Sondheim medleys, along with the title track (from Chess).

In discussing the album and the track, Braun has said “‘Someone Else’s Story’ just had to be. It was the title of the album from the very beginning. All of the songs on the album are stories, and, as an actress, they are other people’s stories. But they’re mine too. And I only want to sing what’s true. Surely truth is the only reason to do something as intimate and personal as singing?”

Braun’s many theater credits include the original production of Sunset Boulevard, along with The Secret Garden, Les Miserables, and The Phantom of the Opera. Among her film credits are The Muppet Christmas Carol.
