Neil LaBute will direct a film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel Crooked House, written by Oscar winner Julian Fellowes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Christie’s novel details the story of Charles Hayward, who is told by his fiancee that she cannot marry him until her grandfather’s killer is brought to justice.

LaBute’s many plays include Fat Pig, Wrecks, The Shape of Things, and reasons to be pretty. His film credits include Wicker Park, Lakeview Terrace, Death at a Funeral and In the Company of Men.

Fellowes won the Oscar for Gosford Park and is currently writing the second season of Downton Abbey.
