Michael Cusumano, a.k.a Mr. Chicago, Wins Broadway Beauty Pageant

Michael Cusumano, a.k.a Mr. Chicago, was declared the winner of the 5th annual Broadway Beauty Pageant, held on Monday, March 21 at Symphony Space. The show was conceived by Jeffery Self, directed by Ryan J. Davis, and musically directed by Christopher Denny.

Tovah Feldshuh hosted the event, which featured judges Rachel Dratch, Carson Kressley, and Bruce Vilanch along with guest performer Lee Roy Reams, who opened the show with a special number entitled “Beautiful Boys,” created by Gerard Alessandrini.

The pageant features male cast members representing their respective Broadway shows, competing for the title crown through talent, interview, and swimsuit competitions.

Additional contestants included Matt Anctil (La Cage aux Folles), Ray Lee (Anything Goes), Brandon Rubendall (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), and James Tabeek (Mary Poppins).

Proceeds benefit the Ali Forney Center, New York’s primary housing resource for homeless LGBT youth. For more information, click here.
