Mark Sam Rosenthal, Miranda Sings, et al. to Play Ars Nova in March

Ars Nova has announced its programming for March, which will include The Woman Behind the Voice: An Intimate Evening with Miranda Sings, which will be in residencey at the venue, March 25-27. Kerry Whigham will direct.

Special events will include Mark Sam Rosenthal in I Light Up My Life (March 16 and 30); Showgasm, hosted by Lucas Kavner, and featuring Molly Pope, Jen Kwok, Isaac Oliver, HolidayHoliday and Town Hall (March 17); and Isaac Oliver’s He Who Laughs Live (April 1).

Ars Nova’s Uncharted musical theater series will feature Gordon Leary & Julia Meinwald presenting songs from Pregnancy Pact, their new rock/pop musical inspired by recent events in Gloucester, Massachusetts (March 22); Joel B. New singing songs from To Hell and Back, a new emo/pop/rock musical featuring a
fantastical take on the Orpheus and Eurydice myth set in present day Nebraska (March 29); and Jeremiah James celebrating the recent release of his Elvis-inspired solo album, Tupelo (March 19).

In addition, Hal Brooks will direct a reading of Andy Bragen’s This Is My Office (March 28), in which Bragen recounts his artist residency in an abandoned office space, where he starts the year with bright hopes and big plans, but soon finds himself succumbing to doughnuts, lethargy and a paralyzing sense of déjà vu.
