Kimberly Faye Greenberg will reprise her performance in the title role in Chip Deffaa’s One Night With Fanny Brice, which will begin previews at St. Luke’s Theatre on March 16 in anticipation of an official opening on April 3. Greenberg replaces the previously announced Farah Alvin.

Greenberg originated the role in this musical bio of the Ziegfield Follies star, which Defaa has written, arranged and directed. Among her other credits are Danny and Sylvia: The Danny Kaye Musical, The Vagina Monologues, and Christmas Rappings.

The show chronicles Brice’s rise from rather humble origins to her international acclaim as an entertainer, who could both deliver broad comedy numbers and dramatic torch songs. The show features many of the songs Brice made famous, including “Rose of Washington Square,” “My Man” and “Second Hand Rose.”
