Julie Taymor’s The Tempest, Starring Helen Mirren, Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, et al, to Be Released on DVD/Blu-Ray September 13

Tony Award winner and Academy Award nominee Julie Taymor’s film version of Shakespeare’s The Tempest will be released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment for purchases on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download on September 13.

Taymor’s modern retelling of Shakespeare’s tale of an exiled monarch who has gained fantastic powers on a semi-deserted island features Helen Mirren, Russell Brand, Reeve Carney, Chris Cooper, Tom Conti, Alan Cumming, Djimon Hounsou, Felicity Jones, Alfred Molina, David Strathairn and Ben Whishaw.

Bonus features with the release will include audio commentary by director Taymor, and Reeve Carney performing “O Mistress Mine.”
