Frances McDormand Eligible for Lead Actress Tony Award; Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland Eligible for Featured Actor Awards

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the third time this season to decide the eligibility of three Broadway productions for the 2011 American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from The Beacon Theatre on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 12, 2011.

The three productions discussed include: Good People, That Championship Season and Arcadia.

Frances McDormand will be considered eligible in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for her performance in Good People. The rest of the cast will be considered in the Featured Actor and Actress categories.

Brian Cox will be considered in the Leading Actor category. for That Championship Season, while Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth, Jason Patric, and Kiefer Sutherland will all be considered eligible in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for their respective performances.

All decisions regarding the cast of Arcadia will be consistent with its opening night credits.
