HBO’s previously reported special of Colin Quinn’s one-man show Long Story Short, which will end its Broadway engagement at the Helen Hayes Theatre on March 5, will air on the network on April 9 at 10pm (ET). Jerry Seinfeld has directed the production.

In the show, Quinn comically examines over 2000 years of history, offering satirical takes on the attitudes, appetites and habits that toppled powerful empires.

Quinn is perhaps best known for his work on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, where he also served as a writer. Among his other writing credits are In Living Color and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. As a performer, he has been seen in such films as Married to the Mob, A Night at the Roxbury, and Grown-Ups, as well as the forthcoming Booted.
