Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty, Obie Award winner William M. Hoffman, and Ethyl Eichelberger Award-winner Taylor Mac are among the artists who have contributed original songs for transgender performer Bianca Leigh’s world premiere show, A Night at the Tombs, to be presented by Theatre Askew at Bowery Poetry Club, June 24-August 5, with an opening on July 8. Tim Cusack will direct.

This solo play with music recounts the events surrounding Leigh’s arrest for prostitution, as she looks back at her past and tries to make sense of how a skinny New Jersey boy who dreamed of becoming a great Shakespearean actor ended up as a high-priced dominatrix.

The piece also includes songs by Jeff Domoto, Barb Morrison, and Matty Pritchard and Isam Rum. The production will feature costumes by Machine Dazzle.
