Steven Berkoff will join Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Timothy Dalton in the romance-drama The Tourist, according to Variety. Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck is directing the film, which is shooting in Venice and features a screenplay by Julian Fellowes, Christopher McQuarrie, and Jeffrey Nachmanoff.

The movie centers on an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart who pursues a romance with a woman who deliberately crosses his path. The couple is then caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger. Also featured in the cast are Paul Bettany and Broadway veteran Rufus Sewell.

On Broadway, Berkoff directed his adaptation of Kafka’s Metamorphosis, which starred Mikhail Baryshnikov. Off-Broadway, Berkoff directed a production of Shakespeare’s Coriolanus, starring Christopher Walken and Irene Worth. Berkoff’s many stage credits in his native U.K. are the recent stage production of the classic movie On the Waterfront, which he both conceived and directed; Shakespeare’s Villains, Salome, Requiem for Ground Zero and Sit and Shiver. On film, he’s been seen in such movies as Beverly Hills Cop, Rambo: First Blood Part II, The Flying Scotsman, 9 Dead Gay Guys and Fair Game.
