Tony Award-winning producer Stuart Thompson received the Commercial Theater Institute’s Robert Whitehead Award at a reception at Sardi’s Restaurant on Tuesday, March 9.

The award recognizes “outstanding achievement in commercial theatre producing,” and is named after the late producer Robert Whitehead, who died in 2002.

Thompson is currently represented on Broadway by A View from the Bridge and God of Carnage, and he is one of the producers of the upcoming Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor.

Among the luminaries in attendance were Tony Award winner Zoe Caldwell, the widow of Robert Whitehead, A View from the Bridge stars Liev Schreiber and Jessica Hecht, and God of Carnage stars Lucy Liu, Jeff Daniels, and Dylan Baker.
