PHOTO FLASH: David Cromer, Michael Shannon and Company Celebrate First Anniversary of Off-Broadway Our Town

The Off-Broadway company of the revival of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, running at the Barrow Street Theatre, celebrated the production’s first anniversary on February 26. David Cromer has directed the production.

The company is currently led by Oscar nominee Michael Shannon in the role of The Stage Manager, and also features Robert Beitzel (Howie Newsome), Susan Bennett (Mrs. Soames), Kati Brazda (Mrs. Webb), Will Brill (Joe Crowell), Nathan Dame (Sam Craig), Mark Hatton (Constable Warren), Jennifer Grace (Emily), Wilbur Edwin Henry (Professor Willard), Jake Horowitz (Wally Webb), Ronete Levenson (Rebecca Gibbs), Ben Livingston (Doc Gibbs), David Manis (Editor Webb), Daniel Marcus (Simon Stimson), James McMenamin (George), Lori Myers (Mrs. Gibbs), Jay Russell (Joe Stoddard), and Jason Yachanin (Si Crowell), along with Elizabeth Audley, Dana Jacks, Kathleen Peirce, Keith Perry, and Mark Shock.

Cromer originated the role of the Stage manager in this production, and is also currently helming the Off-Broadway production of Lincoln Center’s When the Rain Stops Falling. His other directing credits include the Broadway revival of Brighton Beach Memoirs and the Off-Broadway musical Adding Machine.

Shannon received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in Revolutionary Road. His New York stage credits include Tracy Letts’ Bug and Killer Joe, Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Little Flower of East Orange, and Craig Wright’s Lady.
