Stage and screen star Alec Baldwin visited the Irish Repertory Theatre's production of George Bernard Shaw's Candida, on Friday, February 26. The production is currently in previews, and will open officially on March 7. It features direction and design by Tony Walton.

George Bernard Shaw's play tells the story of Reverend James Morell (Ciaran O'Reilly) and how his comfortable marriage to Candida (Melissa Errico) is shaken by the arrival of the young poet, Marchbanks (Sam Underwood). The cast also includes Xanthe Elbrick, Josh Grisetti, and Brian Murray.

Baldwin has appeared on Broadway in A Streetcar Named Desire, Loot, and Twentieth Century. He received an Academy Award nomination for The Cooler and has won two Emmy Awards for his work on NBC's 30 Rock. He will be co-hosting (with Steve Martin) the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, which will take place on Monday, March 7 in Los Angeles and be aired live on ABC-TV.
