Mark Wing-Davey, Chay Yew, et al. to Direct Readings for Public’s Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series

The Public Theater has announced the schedule for the second installment of its Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series, which will offer readings of participating writers’ full scripts on April 5 – 26.

The readings will include Jordan Seavey’s The Funny Pain (April 5), directed by May Adrales; Mona Mansour’s The Hour of Feeling (April 12), directed by Mark Wing-Davey; Deen’s Draw the Circle (April 19), directed by Chay Yew; Vicki Ramirez’s Ashes (April 21), directed by Betsy Theobald Richards; and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Appropriate (April 26), with a director to be announced at a later date.

The theater presented works by group members Alena Smith, J. Julian Christopher, Bridget Kelso, and Kevin Christopher Snipes during the first half of March.
