Kevin Kline to Star in David Auburn-Penned Series in Development for HBO

Academy Award winner Kevin Kline is scheduled to star in a new series being developed for HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pultizer Prize-winning playwright David Auburn will write the series.

The program will focus on a prominent doctor (played by Kline) who is restarting his life after serving a 15-year prison sentence for murdering his mistress.

Kline won an Oscar for A Fish Called Wanda. He received Tony Awards for On the Twentieth Century and The Pirates of Penzance. The actor was most recently seen on Broadway in Cyrano de Bergerac.

Auburn won the Pulitzer Prize for Proof. Among his other stage work includes What Do You Believe About The Future? and Skyscraper, as well as the book for tick, tick…BOOM!. His screenplays include The Lake House and The Girl in the Park.
