Hinton Battle, Regie Cabico, Ryan Knowles, et al. Set for Planet Connections Theatre Festivity

The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity has announced its 2010 line-up. Over 50 productions will be presented during the festival, to take place at the Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street), The Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street) and Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street (Bleecker Street Theatre and Green Room Theatre), June 3-27.

Each show in this eco-friendly/socially-conscious theater festival partners with a not-for profit organization and will implement green-theater sensibility into their productions.

Among the highlights is three-time Tony Award winner Hinton Battle directing the musical Give Till It Hurts, featuring book, music, and lyrics by Dorothy Marcic. Renowned performance poet Regie Cabico will direct writer/performer Sahil Farooqi’s A Brown Monkey Goes to McDonalds. Ryan Knowles, currently starring in Caligula Maximus, writes and performs Dig & Be Dug: The Gospel of Lord Buckley, directed by David Kraft.

Additional shows include works by David Alex Andrejko, Monica Bauer, Jeff Biggers, Glory Bowen, John Patrick Bray, Sergei Burbank, Carol Carpenter, Peter Dagger & Eric Leboe, Rol “Bubi” Escudero, Gabrielle Fox, Ricardo Garcia, Richard L. Gaw, Ann Gillespie, Alex Goldberg, Jason Grossman, Ashley Jacobson, Erin Jividen, Emma Koenig, Ashley Marinaccio, Michael Niederman, Felipe Ossa, Annie and Jenna Pasqua, Duncan Pflaster, Brian Rady, Julia Sandra Rand, Andrew Rothkin, Adam Samtur, Lenny Schwartz, Aliza Shane, Nandita Shenoy, Katya Stanislavskaya, J.C. Svec, Calla Videt, Jonathan Wallace, Mark J. Williams, and the comedy troupe The Mistake.

There will also be staged readings of pieces by Lauren Marie Albert, Sal Phoenix Atlantis, Anne Berlin & Andy Cohen, Mark William Butler, Sean Gill, John Kearns, Dorothy Marcic, and Melissa F. Moschitto.
