Close is adapting the script from the short story by Irish author George Moore with author John Banville. She plays a woman who must pass as a man to survive life in 19th-century Ireland and finds herself trapped by her decision.
Close won Tony Awards for her roles in The Real Thing, Death and the Maiden and Sunset Boulevard, and received a Tony nomination for Barnum. She is five-time Oscar nominee, and has won two Emmy Awards for her current FX series Damages and another Emmy for the television movie Serving in Silence: The Margerethe Cammermeyer Story.
