Corbin Bleu Extends Broadway Run in In the Heights Through July 25

Corbin Bleu, best known for playing Chad Danforth in Disney’s High School Musical franchise, has extended his run in the Broadway musical In the Heights by three months, and will now play the lead role of Usnavi through Sunday, July 25.

The 2008 Tony Award winner for best musical, playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda, and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, the musical focuses on the tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan and the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.

The cast also includes Andréa Burns as Daniela, Janet Dacal as Nina, David Del Rio as Sonny, Marcy Harriell as Vanessa, Christopher Jackson as Benny, Priscilla Lopez as Camila, Olga Merediz as Abuela Claudia, and Rick Négron as Kevin.

The company also features Courtney Reed, William B. Wingfield, Tony Chiroldes, Dwayne Clark, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Ruben Flores, Marcus Paul James, Nina Lafarga, Jennifer Locke, Doreen Montalvo, Gabrielle Ruiz, Luis Salgado, Kevin Santos, Rickey Tripp, Michael Balderrama, Blanca Camacho, Stephanie Klemons, Allison Thomas Lee, Alejandra Reyes, Jon Rua, and Marcos Santana.
