Alan Rickman will participate in a pre-performance Artist Talk at BAM’s Harvey Theatre on April 27 at 6pm. Moderated by Lynn Hirschberg, the conversation will be offered in conjunction with the BAM presentation of the Donmar Warehouse’s production of August Strindberg’s Creditors (April 16 – May 16), which Rickman has directed.

Creditors centers on a man who, while waiting for his wife to return from a trip, hopes to find comfort in a conversation with a stranger, but instead discovers the man’s words only open old wounds. The company will feature Tom Burke (Adolph), Anna Chancellor (Tekla), and Owen Teale (Gustav).

The creative team includes Ben Stones (scenic design), Fotini Dimou (costume design), Howard Harrison (lighting design), and Adam Cork (original music and sound design).

Rickman’s directorial work includes My Name is Rachel Corrie, Live Wax, and The Winter Guest, which he also directed on screen. His recent stage credits as a performer include The Reading Room and Private Lives, for which he earned a Tony nomination. Rickman’s recent film credits include Alice in Wonderland, the Harry Potter series, Bottle Shock, Sweeney Todd, Nobel Son, Perfume, and Snowcake.
