STYX and REO Speedwagon Members to Debut New Song at Broadway’s Rock of Ages

Tommy Shaw from STYX and Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon will perform their new co-written single, “Can’t Stop Rockin,” immediately following the evening performance of Rock of Ages, on Monday, April 27, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

The performance of the new song celebrates the rockers’ recently announced CAN’T STOP ROCKIN’ 2009 Tour, which will kick off on May 12 in Amarillo, Texas and will feature hit-packed sets by classic rock n’ roll bands, REO Speedwagon, STYX, and 38 Special.

Written by Chris D’Arienzo and directed by Kristin Hanggi, Rock of Ages focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. It incorporates the music of such classic rock bands as Journey, Bon Jovi, STYX, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, and Whitesnake.

The production stars Constantine Maroulis as Drew, James Carpinello as Stacee Jaxx, and Amy Spanger as Sherrie. The cast also includes Adam Dannheisser, Mitchell Jarvis, Michele Mais, Lauren Molina, Paul Schoeffler, Wesley Taylor, Ericka Hunter, Jeremy Jordan, Michael Minarik, Angel Reed, Bahiyah Sayyed-Gaines, Katherine Tokarz, Andre Ward, Savannah Wise, Tad Wilson, and Jeremy Woodard.
