Second Stage has announced that it will postpone its production of Douglas Carter Beane’s new comedy, Mr. & Mrs. Fitch, which was scheduled to begin previews June 16, due to a scheduling conflict with director Scott Ellis. A new summer Mainstage production will be announced at a later date.

This new comedy about two gossip columnists is a scathing look at who is in, who is out, and who may not even exist at all. Beane is the author of The Little Dog Laughed which premiered at Second Stage before transferring to Broadway, where it received a Tony nomination for Best Play. He was also Tony-nominated for his book to the musical Xanadu, and other plays include Dancing in the Dark and As Bees in Honey Drown.
