Casting has been announced for Prospect Theater Company's world premiere of the new bluegrass musical Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge, with book, music, and lyrics by Peter Mills. It will be directed by Cara Reichel at 59E59 Theaters, April 11-May 3, with an opening set for April 17.

The work is adapted by Mills and Reichel from J.M. Synge's The Playboy of the Western World, and re-set in the wilds of 1930's Appalachia.

The principal cast will include Mark Mozingo (Clay), Victoria Huston-Elem (Maggie), Jeff Edgerton (Luther), Carol Hickey (Widder Hazel), Dan Sharkey (J.M.), and Scott Wakefield (Leroy). The creative team will include Tate Burmeister (set), Sidney Shannon (costumes), and Evan Purcell (lighting).
