Phylicia Rashad and Ruben Santiago-Hudson to Host Signature Theatre Company Gala

Phylicia Rashad and Ruben Santiago-Hudson will host the Signature Theatre Company Gala at Espace (635 West 42nd Street), on March 30 beginning at 6:30 pm.

The gala will honor Douglas Turner Ward, founder of the Negro Ensemble Company, and include cocktails, dinner, and a performance/tribute. Ward directed the original productions of the three works that Signature presented during its 2008-09 season celebrating the Negro Ensemble Company: The First Breeze of Summer, Home and Zooman and the Sign. As a playwright, he is best known for his award-winning one-act plays Happy Ending and Day of Absence. He received a Tony nomination as an actor in The River Niger, and a Drama Desk for his performance in Ceremonies in Dark Old Men.

Individual ticket prices range from $600-$1,200 with table prices ranging from $6,000-$25,000. For more information, visit signaturetheatre.org.
